As I've said in the past, it’s important to me that you get more than a bunch of talk about everything I’m doing. I want you to know I appreciate you reading these messages, contributing to my projects, coming to shows, reviewing my work, listening to my music, and in general spreading the word in whatever way you do. So, float your pointer over this week’s featured song on ReverbNation and you’ll find the option to actually download it, so you can take it with you wherever you go. In fact…

LET THE FIRST SONG PLAY - THE NEXT SONG IS AVAILABLE FOR FREE, TOO!

Just for the next week or so, I’m leaving “There’s A River” and “Letter To A Friend” available for FREE DOWNLOAD in case you didn’t get either one through a previous message. Please don’t hesitate to grab copies for friends. This is only on ReverbNation:

I JUST BOOKED A LAST MINUTE SOLO SHOW IN WEST CHICAGO ON FRIDAY, JUNE 2nd AT:

CAIRO ALE HOUSE, 2009 Fransiscan Way in West Chicago, Illinois.

I share the night with two other acoustic acts and we play from 9pm to close.

JUNE 16th FULL BAND SHOW AT LIVEWIRE

Friday, June 16th, I’m bringing the full-on band out again for a set at LiveWire Lounge on Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago. There will be three other bands playing. Music starts at 9pm, there is a cover (don’t know how much yet) and it’s 21 and over. Parking is easy. I’ll send a follow up about it, probably in my next message.

LiveWire Lounge Chicago is located at 3394 N. Milwaukee Ave. near Pulaski and Belmont and features live music seven days a week. The owner, Dave, is in my book. So, if you’re wondering…

I’M WAITING ON THE COVER DESIGN AND THEN IT’S TIME TO PUBLISH MY BOOK – PHYSICAL COPIES, EBOOKS AND PRINT-ON-DEMAND WILL BE AVALABLE SOON. But you can still get involved…

You can still buy advance copies of my book “The Outback Musician’s Survival Guide” to help me offset my out-of-pocket expenses, but I am ready to go! They’re $15, but tips are fine, too. I’ve received several from those who can and like to be advocates or patrons of the arts. Click and send with “OUTBACK” in the info field.

But, there’s more! WANT YOUR NAME IN MY BOOK?

Every person who has contributed to this project directly will have their first name listed in the first pages of my book as someone who helped get it published. I’m leaving out last names for the privacy of donors. It’s just a thank you between us.

While I await the designs, I’m doing all the little last minute stuff, including scanning through the book to see if I missed anything. I’ve made this a linear read of my life interspersed with lots of information about surviving in the music scene. If you have my first edition, this edition is more organized. It reads more like one long story. There have been extensive re-writes and additions. The book comes to just more than 200 pages. The photos attached to this message in the email format show the front and back cover photos. Here’s the byline for the back cover:

What’s it really like for 99% of America’s music industry people? Chicago-based singer-songwriter-guitarist Phil Circle hasn’t seen it all, but he’s had a pretty good view of a lot. In this series of whimsical stories, reflections on the craft, thoughts about the business, and how not to do a lot of things, he sheds a little light on the real world of music. You’re likely to find that some of what you’ve heard about being a musician is sadly and hysterically true, and that other widely held beliefs are little more than hot air. Ride along through three decades of one man’s journey and continuing survival in the outback, on the front lines, and generally out there loving every minute of it.
Phil Circle is an independent musician. This term usually implies someone who is not signed to a major record deal, plays primarily smaller venues, tours from behind their own car’s dashboard, and probably has little or no money. In Phil’s 30+ years carrying this title, he’s here to tell you that he has known all of these qualifications to be true. He’ll also say he’s loved every minute of it and wouldn’t trade it for a major multi-record deal and a judge’s chair on a TV music competition.
“Never mind the why or wherefore, love can level ranks and therefore…”

Send $15 or more and write “OUTBACK” in the info field.

Once again, I’m all set-up to have POD (Print-on-demand) on Amazon and other sites, as well as an eBook… thanks to your support! I have reached these goals in part because of you! There’s still time before my designs come back to give it one last boost if you’ve been wanting to get involved and it just wasn’t the right time or you wanted to know more.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you…

There aren’t enough ways to say it, so I hope I’m coming close to expressing my appreciation and maybe I can even speak for any independent who receives support in whatever fashion from folks like you. You make it happen. We’re just responding with more creative endeavors.

Here’s hoping you’re having a pleasant springtime.

Peace, love, and the arts,

Thanks for being a part of the movement away from the mainstream,

-Phil
